Prager says that he laughs when something disturbs him. This attitude
disturbs his wife Fran [Prager talks about her more often than he
did several years ago] but DP would rather laugh than cry.
He laughed today because he found it depressing that a San Francisco
foundation spent seven million dollars to make a luxurious dog rescue
facility in San Francisco that provided animals with stereo, air
conditioning, and TV.
A caller passionately supported spay and neuter clinics
He says that people swerving to avoid accidents with stray pets
cost the country billions of dollars.
Dennis owns four dogs and numerous other pets including chickens.
Prager says this facility represents the equation of human worth
with animal worth
Dennis asked the man who runs the operation
if there had been any controversy in San Francisco? He said no.
Prager did not ask him his classic question: Who would he save
first? A drowning animal or human? Dennis did not want to put him
on the defensive.
When Dennis asked the San Francisco leader of the SPCA what was
wrong with putting to sleep a twenty year old dog with three legs.
The man replied, "You wouldn't do that to a human in a wheelchair,
would you?"
Prager says the majority of people who are hyperactive about protecting
animals do not have children. Most are single women.
A woman called to relate that once, at a vet, she was eight months
pregnant, and no one stood up to offer her a seat. Some people had
their pets on the seat next to them.
Prager objects not to treating animals well, but to treating them
as humans.

DP discussed liberal opposition to naming an airport in Washington
D.C. after Ronald Reagen. Prager noted how many institutions in
America are named after liberal politicians such as JFK stadium
in Washington D.C. and RFK air port in New York.
Prager said the issue illuminated a basic liberal-conservative
difference. While conservatives view liberals as wrong, liberals
view conservatives as bad, evil. Therefore, you should not name
an air port after an evil man.
Prager says that liberalism depends on feelings rather than thought.
He pointed out the limited number of liberal talk show hosts, which
he attributes to the lack of liberal thought. Talk show hosts must
defend and argue positions, and liberalism does not argue well (because
it is based on feelings rather than thought).
In the past, DP has pointed out the lack of liberal magazines
of thought.
Liberals think this way, says DP. People are basically good. I
am good. I mean well. I am compassionate. Therefore, those who disagree
with me must be bad.
