Lipo-dissolve is being marketed as an innovative alternative to liposuction that involves a simple series of medicated injections which dissolve unwanted small localized areas of fat.

Liposuction is the only scientifically proven method available to permanently remove fat cells. The beauty of permanent fat cell removal through liposuction is that the fat cells are not able to grow back. Lipo-dissolve is still under investigation — permanent removal of fat has not been established, among other important considerations. Some plastic surgeons believe that there is no reason to use lipo-dissolve since liposuction has been proven to be safe and effective at permanent fat cell removal. At the same time, these practices may feel that lipo-dissolve is worthwhile for investigation because there is no strong solution for cellulite or stretch marks. Still other practices believe that lipo-dissolve holds promise for treating many areas of localized fat.

...The ingredients may include phosphatidyl choline, multivitamins, alpha lipid acid, enzymes, and plant extracts. Ingredients may also include chemical agents such as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications, antibiotics, and hormones.
