STILL THANKFUL STILL GIVING PREMIERE FUNDRAISING EVENT – Hollywood’s hottest stars come together to support the Still Thankful Still Giving benefit on Thursday, November 29th to raise awareness and funds for the orphans at Casa Hogar Sion, an orphanage in Tijuana. The evening festivities will be hosted by Celebrity Hostesses Lauren Holly and Meredith Brooks and will be held at the beautiful and exclusive Cinespace in Hollywood. This Premiere Event “A celebration of adoption, community and family and never ending appreciation” will entertain guests with a special musical performance by Alex Woodard (Singer-Songwriter of the Year – LA Music Awards) and Coffey (Currently touring with Brian McKnight and JoJo), a tribute to Casting Network’s president Beau Bonneau, dancing, open bars sponsored by Siku Vodka, Hope Wine and IZZE, an incredible silent auction, tray-passed hors d’oeuvres, face and body painting and a “Cookie Magazine and Jr. Sirens” Pajama Room with movies and fun for the kids. Proceeds will benefit Casa Hogar Sion orphanage in Tijuana, Mexico.
In 1999 Mama Carmen and Papa Jorge Gonzales opened the doors of their home to a few abandoned children living on the streets. Now, taking care of 100 children is not without its struggles, but with the love and devotion and strength of Mama Carmen and Papa Jorge and their staff, the orphanage has flourished. Through the efforts of affiliated churches and independent groups, private and corporate donors, there are now seven buildings, all the children are going to school, some of the older children are in private school or trade tech. There is a computer lab with ten new networked computers and classes running five days a week. Mama Carmen not only wants to protect and take care of her children, she wants to provide them with opportunity and hope that only education can provide. In focusing on education, and leading by example, Mama & Papa and the staff take are of their children and their children’s children.
