Luke: “They want to maximize power for themselves. Always bet on self-interest. Rabbis want as much power as possible and they’ll ascribe it to God’s will or Torah, etc.”
Friend: “If they were just more transparent…”
Luke: “Transparency and rabbinic power do not go together. Jews have always been ruled by their elites, just like any tribe.”
